Euro 2012 08 June 2012

Euro 2012 will be the 14th International European Championships to be held and will be be hosted by both Ukraine and Poland, neither of which have hosted the competition before.

Champions Spain are pretty much everyone's favourites to keep their title however with such strong competition in the form of Germany, Portugal, Holland and perhaps England nothing can be taken for granted.

Live Group Stage and Quarter Final fixtures will be shown in the UK by both ITV and BBC though the BBC have exclusive rights for the Semi Finals and Finals.

London 2012 Olympic Games 27 July 2012

The 2012 Olympics our set to be hosted in London, meaning London is the only City to have hosted the modern games three times after defeating bids from Madrid, Moscow, Paris and New York City.

Although many events will be held at venues already in place there has also been considerable redevelopment not least the main Olympic Stadium in Stratford which has cost a staggering £486 million to build.

Athletes from 144 different nations are due to participate in the 26 featured sports or 39 different disciplines with both Baseball and Softball being dropped for this year’s games. The opening ceremony will be shown on BBC on July 27th although the football competition gets underway on July 25th.
